Happy Anniversary “Phabulously Sparkling @ 50”

OMG!!! One Year!!!

Listen, I have to admit, When I first decided to join the Blogging World, I had no idea where to start. I just posted one sentence about being over “Fifty and Feeling Fabulous” and this one picture  and hit the publish button.

 

Since I started blogging. I found out that It does take a lot of work, for instance, researching, organizing, and taking pictures (I love taking pics), which are just a few of the things, but that’s okay. I’m so excited to say, I do love the fun of it and, I find it to be very relaxing.

While blogging, I’ve met some amazing friends along the way and reading their blog posts whether it’s about traveling, which took me on adventures to different countries and different states that I’d never would’ve dreamed of, or sharing food recipes, learning new beauty tips or finding shopping sales, etc. I’m definitely excited to see what 2016 will bring ….  😉

So here’s to my One Year Blogging Anniversary… Kudos “Phabulously Sparkling @ 50”, It’s like the old saying goes,

 

                                                        “Like Fine Wine – It Only Gets Better”.

My Almost Griswold’s Christmas 2015

This Holiday Season Has been So Much Fun…

 

I really loved decorating for Christmas, you can say I’m a member of the Griswold’s, I have lights everywhere and inside my home it looks like the North Pole exploded, hahaha.

Have you guys ever seen the Griswold’s Christmas? one of the funniest Christmas movies ever, one of the favorite scenes in the movie happened to me while putting the lights up, yes, finishing all the lights and not a light working, I got so frustrated because I’m thinking that one of the bulbs had to be blown out and I was not about to go through checking bulb by bulb to find out which one was not working so, I went to buy some new lights. When getting ready to take down the lights to replace with the new ones, I noticed that I had never plugged in the cord,…I’m like what the (H-E-(Double Hockey Sticks ) L L!!!) SMH, another favorite part is when the squirrel jumps out of the Christmas Tree and everyone in the house (it’s about 20-30 family members) screaming and running from the squirrel, and not to mention the squirrel is running behind them as well, because he thinks something is chasing him too,…LOL!!!! LOL!!!! LOL!!!, whew…I get too tickled every time I see this movie.

So, below are some of the things that I loved for Christmas 2015….

 

I so love the “Merry Little Latte Mug….Latte’s twice a day, can you say DELICIOUS!!!!!

During the holidays, I like to drive around and gaze at all the beautiful decorations, You know it saddens me that people don’t decorate like they use to, Do they not have the Holiday Spirit anymore? Maybe next Christmas people all over the world should say this “The Best Way To Spread Christmas Cheer is Singing Loud for All to Hear” remember it worked in the movie (elf)….smile.

When I see Christmas Trees and Lights I get very excited, they’re just beautiful, the lights alone is good enough for me, What about you?

This is one of the  Christmas Trees that I thought was decorated so pretty and look at the mailbox next to it, which is labeled  “Santa Mail Only“, how cute!!! I’m sure the Children love this one too, sending letters to Santa.

I was also excited that one of the twins, decided to even put a small four-foot tree in her bedroom and she also decorated her bedroom door….turned out very cute, however, I think she could have put a little more effort in her decor. Check out the “OH OH OH” ribbon, yes, it’s upside down!!! LMBO!!!

 

What fun did you have? Did you do the family thing with matching pajamas, Were you baking Christmas cookies or watching your favorite Christmas movie? Whichever it was, I hope you enjoyed the holidays.

The Twelve Drinks of Christmas

Hey  Hey, Merry Holidays    

 

How is everyone doing? Did you start your holiday shopping yet? or are you a procrastinator? waiting until the last minutes.

I’m trying to do a little better this year, as far as, holiday shopping, if I’m in a store, to try and buy at least one gift to take off my shopping list.

 

So while out yesterday, I had stopped by the local Walgreens and was just looking around and “lo and behold” I saw this Welch’s Pina Colada Sparkling Juice, of course, Mocktail style, (a gift for myself) but that’s okay, I’ll change that mocktail into a cocktail style for New Years Eve, you know what I mean…..LOL!!!

So with that being said, I research and found several holiday mocktails and cocktails that would be great for  any party that you’re having for the Holidays or for just relaxing after you come from the hustle and bustle at the shopping malls/centers.

My Holiday Kick-Off Series

 

Merry Holidays Everyone….

It’s about that time of the year, Holiday Aroma is in the air ….can you smell it?, smells delicious doesn’t it?, Yep time for the jingle of bells, the glistening of shining lights, the baking of cookies and the singing of carols.

Time to pull out the Christmas decorations,  and to start off my holiday season while I’m decorating I always love to listen to Christmas music and here are my ten favorites:

Rocking around the  Christmas Tree  by: Brenda Lee – This one here has an upbeat tempo, so I definitely can get turned up.

Santa Baby – by: Eartha Kitt – This song here is so sexy….”Slip a Sable under the tree for me”, “been an awful good girl”, she’s also asking for a “54′ convertible too, light blue”,        …Girl Yes!!!   I feel Ya!!!

 

Sleigh Ride  (together) –  by: Johnny Mathis – How romantic is riding in a sleigh at Christmas time….xoxo

You’re a Mean One Mr. Grinch by:  Thurl Ravenscroft – This song is hilarious… “Three words that best describe you are as follow “Stink, Stank, Stunk” forgot another word “Skunk”… Ha Ha Ha….bah humbug!!!!

 

Let It Snow by: Boyz to Men – I love this song, although I dislike snow, okay let it snow on Christmas Day Only!!!!  OMG!!! here she comes again, Elsa…Get your patootie out of my post…LOL!!!!!

 

Jingle Bells by: Frank Sinatra…I love those “J-I-N-G-L-E Bells”, This song is so much fun to sing …try singing and spelling Jingle Bells (fast tempo) I bet you mess up ☺️😉.

 

 

Although there are plenty of Christmas songs I love, but those listed above are my favorite, So hop on over to iHeart radio  and choose your radio station for holiday music (93.9 FM).

ELSA DON’T START…. SNOW GO AWAY

OMG…. The First Snow Fall….I can’t…..SMH!!!!

Winter doesn’t go into full effect until like December 21st … This SNOW and COLD weather has got me “STRESSED The F**K OUT“…sorry for the french…(no pun intended) I just can’t deal with this wild weather.

Of course, as a kid I couldn’t wait for it to start snowing, so I could go play in the snow, go sledding, or making a snowman and throwing snow balls.. but the snow in this day and age or shall  I say generation, has a mind of its own, don’t you agree?

I mean for the last three Winters here in Illinois it has been like the ice age, I swear last winter it was freezing cold, people were going around saying who made ELSA mad? You guys know her “The Frozen Queen” .. 😂😂😂😂 and it was so cold the word “Vortex” was being used just about everyday, Schools, Businesses and Roads were shut down for days at a time, because of  the continuous severe weather.

 

Lake Shore Drive Shut Down…People had to be rescued from their vehicles.

These are the Type Of Winters We Have….Stuck In The Snow!

 

This snow has got me so crazy, I’m thinking about relocating to a warmer climate.

I remember my grandparents used to say to me (“snow is magic…it comes from the North Pole”) yea… okay, whatever,… snow is magic right?, well snow, show me and disappear….😄😄😄.

 

Don’t get me wrong, the snow is beautiful, you get to wear your fabulous winter fashions, (coats, hats, boots, etc)…. you get to drink hot chocolate with marshmallows, go skiing and sit by the fireplace, but it’s too soon to be inside a snow globe, I’m thinking let the snow fall on December 25th so it can be a White Christmas and then the snow can melt on December 26th, (lbvs).

 

Look…

The Kids are even sick of the snow… They didn’t finish Frosty… No Hat, Face or Arms…. Lol!!!!

 

 

 

Snow on the Trees!!!!

 

 

No more sitting and relaxing on the Bench…..SMH

 

 

 

No more Picnics in the Park…Bummer!

 

 

 

Thank goodness the “Support our Throops” sign didn’t get covered by the SNOW

 

 

 

Yes people, I know I may need a therapist for this Snow Phobia of mines, but I’m sure, I’m not the only one…. right my fellow Illinoisans?

I will agree with one thing, The snow is beautiful only when it falls, but to accumulate…..no thanks! and Elsa, as for you, I think your beautiful too, but STAY THE HELL AWAY!!!

All the Leaves Are Brown And The Sky is Gray

 

Hey  Everyone Heyyyyy,

Come on in and enjoy the music singing all the “Leaves are Brown, (chorus) all the leaves are brown and the Sky is Gray, (chorus)  and the sky is gray”….California… Dreamin’, shout out to “The Mamas and The Papas” for a great song.

I know some of you are saying “The Mamas and The Papas”, Wait, What? Who?, I know you’re probably thinking, WOW! she is definitely telling her age, AHHH NOT!!!!, this singing Group was well before my time, Thank you very much!!!! hahaha,  and I’m just a person who loves all genre of music from all eras and this great song is perfect for the Fall season which is, upon us.  😉

So I’m singing this tune today because I’m feeling very nostalgic, just looking at the sky which is gray and also noticing all the leaves have fallen from the trees. Yes, people…. It’s officially Fall…. and no more warm weather.

 

The leaves may be brown…. but  in my mind I’m clinging onto the warm weather, and wearing this Dress (see below) keeps me thinking of summer with this beautiful white Hibiscus floral print all over it, and if, you can remember this dress is similar to one of the dresses on my wish list back in June, Pink & Multi Coloured Floral Cold Shoulder Swing Dress    (Wishlist Here)

Yes, I held out and was able to buy this dress about 3-4 weeks ago and at the cha ching!  price of $18.00 from Yours Clothing, you guys know I love the cha ching sound…. Yes 30-50% off  –  great buy, I know right!

Lights, Camera, Action – When you Feel Like A Star

That’s what the people were asking me about a week ago, Yes….you see I was invited to do a collaboration YouTube video with the Beautiful Makeup Artist Mrs. Nicole McDade.

Guys, I swear I felt like a Celebrity she was applying the paint like an artist, or has the terms are stated these day ” Beat My Face” LOL!!

I had so much fun doing this video and getting all Dolled up….. I was like a cake waiting for the icing.  SWEET!!!

So the studio we filmed in was in a “State of the Art” Library located in one of the beautiful suburbs of Illinois, talk about extravagant….I mean, cafes, lounge rooms, elevators, escalators, about six – eight studios with equipment included.  Something for everyone, and all for free.

In one of the studios there were guys recording a rap song/video,  and In another studio there was a group doing radio broadcasting, etc …..Listen, let me tell you, while I was getting my face beat, I happened to look up and noticed in the studio across from us, a  Male/Model was getting his pictures taken by a photographer, next thing you know – shirt comes off, I’m like WHOA!!!,  I tapped my assistant/cousin (shout out to you Meechi) on  her shoulder and  I ask did anyone order a Caramel Sundae or a Six Pack,  she said What? I said look, her mouth flew wide open, then she said “Lawd have Mercy”, LOL….I tell you at that moment Heaven Gates opened and the Angels \O/ \O/  \O/ starting singing Halle-lujah….Halle-lu-jah…I mean Yeah!!!! and one thing for sure peeps, yeah, ” Stella or shall I say Sparkling Char still got her groove”…..LMBO, talking about some eye candy…..aah Yummy, WHEW!!!

Okay, stay focus Girls…back to the CELEBRITY in this post… ME!!!!!! remember…

You talking about Fun!!!! I truly enjoyed making this video…and OMG! Let me not forget to mention Mr. Cornelius McDade the man of production, the man that knows his stuff, the man that was directing and giving pointer….saying “QUIET ON THE SET” ”  RETAKE on SCENE TWO, and he also did the the number thing in “FIVE, FOUR, THREE ,TWO, ONE”…..I’m getting tickled thinking about it.

So after the video was done, we had a little time left in the Studio to take Pics, so I did a Mini Model Shoot, Say What!!!!, all I’m saying is Y’all (“not” You All),  but Y’all….can’t tell me nothing, I’m still on ….☁️ ☁️ ☁️ ☁️ ☁️ ☁️ ☁️ ☁️ ☁️ Yes, Cloud Nine, and Oh! I did keep my Blouse on… LOL!!!!!
